Safe Sunbathing

This is Ralph, a Humboldt Penguin (spheniscus humboldti) at Marwell Wildlife. Ralph is currently nationally famous for sporting a wetsuit. Apparently the poor fella’s feathers all fell out and the wetsuit is a temporary measure to protect him from sunburn until the feathers grow back. He seems contented enough in his sports outfit and he doesn’t need to worry much longer if the weather is as bad as it was today! ;o)
